Mitsubishi part number reference list
Here is a brief sample of our inventory. If it is not listed check with us . If we do not have it we can get it. Part numbers that begin with MB,MR are Mitsubishi part numbers Some part numbers are subject to our numbering system as mitsubishi did not stamp there numbers on all of their parts. This list is mainly for reference, it does not reflect our entire inventory. CTRL + F is going to be your best friend here.
WinCaps helps your part search go a little smoother. This Program gives you a visual of what the part is. You can take a screenshot of the picture and show it to your parts man being me or whoever else.
You take a screenshot by maximizing the illustration in wincaps and pressing the print screen button in the upper right area of your keyboard. You then open up MS paint and click the edit button and choose paste. Save your image as a .jpg file and either print it or attach it to a email.

I am searching for a Bumper on a 97 Eclipse GST Turbo
Double Click the Vehicle Name Code box and Select your vehicle click ok when you have selected your vehicle
Step 2: Select your vehicles Model 1800 would be for the eclipse with the 1.8, 2000 is for the 2.0 non-turbo eclipse and So-on You should know if you have a GS, GST, GSX or RS. Then click OK.
Step 3: Select the Classification Code
Search for your part. Start of very General as the illustrations are very detailed. I searched for a bumper and pressed enter.
Step 5: After I pressed enter it gave me a list of parts that are in the area of the bumper
Press f2 and it will display the illustration of the part that you are searching as shown in step 6.
Step 6: here is the illustration. It takes a little time to get used to it but its worth the time.
Low tech checks
Here is a low tech way to check to see if your alternator battery cables and the battery is functioning correctly.
Crank up the car or get the vehicle jumpstarted and remove the hot wire terminal conector from the battery and if the car stays running your alternator is functioning. If the car shuts down you may want to have the alternator checked,replaced,or rebuilt. If the car stays running you will want to take your battery and have it check and charged at your local parts store. You will also want to thoroughly check your battery cables and terminals to see if anything is loose or burnt.
If you are not too far away from the parts store you are welcome to get the car started and take it to your auto parts store and they can check alternator and battery in the car as well.
How to see if your car has compression on each cylinder.
Remove the spark plugs all at one time or one at a time and get someone to turn the ignition slowly the ignition while you stick you finger in the sparkplug hole and see if the engine blows your finger out of the hole.
How to keep the tire pressure on up on your naive family member’s or friend’s car.
Install some $10 valve caps on them with the tire pressure guages on them that way they can walk around the car and see if the pressure is up by seeing if the cap is green or not if the cap is not green put some air in the tire.

Keeping those balljoints from spinning when installing those lock nuts on 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipses and other cars with the same problem.
whenever you have to remove the CV axles or the transmission on a 2G Mitsubishi Eclipse you have to take the nuts off of the ball joints. well once you have done your task and you begin to reinstall everything, sometimes you run into a problem that will bother you until you figure out the solution. the problem is the ball joints that spin when the lock nuts are being reinstalled. A simple solution to alleviate that problem is to:
apply pressure to the bottom of the ball joint by get a floor jack Preferably the small 2 ton hydraulic jack or a bottle jack.
1. place the jack directly up under the ball joint that you are tightening up
( if the car is too high place a small 4×4 block of wood on the jack to make up the difference.
if you are working on a soft ground put a piece of wood under the jack to keep it from sinking in the ground.)
2. extend the jack until the maximum amount of pressure is on the base of the ball joint.
3. once you get the pressure on the ball joints install your lock nuts and the ball joint shouldn’t spin anymore and the lock nuts should install as presumed.
1993 FreightLiner Wreck and Rebuild
The Freightliner was running about 45mph and a guy made a illegal U-turn in front of the loaded 80,000lb Freighliner FLD tractor trailer. Needless to say the guy making the u-turn lost his load of scrap metal and his van. The driver of the van almost lost his life if the truck driver did not swerve to salvage his life. when he truck came to a rest it straddled a ditch bending the tierod and barely missed a telephone pole. After all of this the both drivers lived to walk away from the crash without any major issues with their health. The truck was not so lucky, it had a busted radiator, bent tierod, bent rims, it bent certain parts of the cab, bent the front bumper, it knocked the driver’s steps off,bent the mirrors, and more!
Unluckily here is some of the damage.
A Work in Progress
While performing the task of repairing the truck we decided to snapp a couple of pictures of the work that we do.
On a positive note we estimated the damage, we decided that the rim and most of the cab’s metal could be straightend. We grabbed our porta power,various hammers,bars,pipes,and whatever else needed to perform the body work. As you see the hood is totally trash because it is made of fiberglass. A new hood was purchased for a good deal from a guy down in Georgia for $750 with all of the decorations and necessary parts. The Tie rod was bent as well but we got it straightend by a Stone Truck Parts down in Florence,SC. After beating and banging, sanding, bondoing and priming, and finally painting; we finally got the truck road ready in about two weeks mainly because we had to find a hood and do some traveling to get the parts. The yellow truck in the background was purchased for parts but it runs and we did not want to take too much off of the truck becauase it can be put back on the road also. The driver wanted his truck; that is why we did not put the yellow truck on the road.
Who says engines wont run without cam sensors
This is a video of something that we seen when working on a 1998 Non-turbo Mitsubishi Eclipse. I have to admit that it was very strange. The engine here is running without the cam sensor. The engine is supposed to have the cam sensor to even function. The Car would actually cut off when the cam sensor was reinstalled. (Solution Below)

The timing was off because the exhaust cam was binding into the cylinder head of the car. Over time with the cam binding into the head it broke off the the dowel that lines up the cam gear in the right place to time the engine. We retimed the engine a couple of times and then we just decided to tear the engine down and we found that the dowel on the cam had been broken off. Without the cam dowel the engine is practically impossible to time correctly. So this is just something to lookout for when timing a 420a engine is not going as planned.
However timing the 420a engine is not difficult as people make it seem, it is fairly straight forward. Just make sure that you pay close attention to things out of the norm because they may be a sign

No Taglight Bracket No Problem!
When I got this 2G Turbo the taglight bracket was gone. Luckily the lights were still there. If you still have the lights. I will give you some insight on how to possibly mount them back in place.
Steps that I took:
- I remvoved the license plate
- I then reached down in the hole to grab the taglights
- I gathered a paint paddle, a drill, a 1/8th bit, a philips screwdriver,and about 6-8 screws.
- cut the paddle into 4 even pieces but I only used two of them
- attach the pieces of paddle to one side of the light with the one or two of the screws (You may or may not need a drill depending upon your supplies.)
- once that is done place the lights in the original light holders place and offset them to your right and left respectively.
- then drill a hole in the bumper cover in the solid piece near the light hole and line
- then get the piece of the paddle over the hole that you drilled and drill a hole in the paddle and put the screw through the hole and your lights will be in place do the other side respectively
- re-install your license plate
- this will keep you from getting pulled over for having a taglight out.
Why are license plates reflective if we still need taglights???

You could use better materials but I decided not to at the moment because I was limited on time.
I am one of the fortunate ones that have a cargo cover for my Mitsubishi Eclipse. I had the little plastic clip holders that attach the cargo cover strings to the deck lid. Well the clips started to get loose in the decklid hole and cause the cargo cover to fall sometimes. I got tired of this and found some cutting screws with about the same size shaft as the hole on the deck lid.(Maybe slightly bigger). The screw is about and inch long and fits in the hole perfect and holds my cargo cover perfedtly without any falling or flopping around like the cheap plastic clips. check out the pics
The screws work perfectly, the strings can be removed just like you could with the plastic Mitsubishi clips. These wont become loose in the holes like the stock clips.

Nice clean simple 2G DSM from the Czech Republic. I hope you all noticed the EDM differences i.e. tail lights, and folding mirrors, and engine.He modified his rear bumper using a quite unique method. We were enthused at how he took a stock rear bumper cover and improved the look of it.He has also added blue lights to the interior,and a racing steering wheel. We will let the pictures of what he done do the talking.

The Car’s Current Condition
Brittany purchased the car in spring of 2010. Since then she has done a lot of work on it because the previous owner failed to take care of the car. She has done some miscellaneous work like replace the throwout bearing, replace wheel hubs, and the infamous recall of broken ball joints. Performance wise it has Crower stage 3 254 cams, AEM intake, KYB AGX suspension on lowering springs, OBX front strut bar, NGK spark plugs and wires. She added halo headlights with 10k hid’s, clear sidemarkers, carbon fiber gauge bezel and headliner, indiglo gauges, 20% tint on the windows, and my 2 Almani competition 12s in the trunk with a 2600w amp & Pioneer speakers in all 4 corners.

new fenders, sideskirts, and the oem turbo wing.
And last but not least…a turbo kit. “I definitely wouldn’t mind a 420a turbo beast!”
